Frank's New Moat Mission
Frank McArdle
Former director Frank McArdle has returned as a trouble-shooter to the Rovers. He has been given permission from the Derbyshire F.A. and has the full backing of the club and the local council.
Frank helped mastermind Rovers' rise to the heights of success in the early 90s. His task now is to assess the state of the club at Rovers request, but has warned the fans "Don't expect miracles, I'm intending to embark on a campaign of passing information directly from the club to supporters on match days and through the media. I firmly believe it is only when the club and the fans return to a sharing and understanding on the club's present position that there can be any hope for future progress. I have never lost my feeling for the club and it will be a pleasure to renew my acquaintance with the supporters and other people who matter to Gresley Rovers".The fans were invited to an informal meeting in the main stand after Saturday's game. Frank explained it wasn't;t about the dream of a new stadium, but about putting Rovers' house in order to ensure that football at the moat at the highest level possible, and when this has been achieved, to re-establish a platform to consider if it is still possible for a new football stadium on the site previously earmarked for that purpose, "It will be an interesting next few weeks but I definitely won't be giving up my day job!" Peter Hall, Rovers Chairman said "We are pleased to have someone of Frank's knowledge and experience to assist us in the future development of the club and look forward to working with him."
