Owen Cashmore
Former Gresley Rovers player Owen Cashmore as sadly passed away.
Owen played for Rovers during the 50's and 60's making 369 appearances. His debut was against Teversall at home on 18th August 1951. Owen's final game was against Kimberley Town at the Moat on 30th April 1965
Derby County came to play Gresley in a testimonial match for Owen. 3,000 people turned up to see the game on 29th April 1965.
His other clubs included Moira Utd, Leicester City Colts, Nuneaton Borough, Burton Albion, Donisthorpe Colliery MW
Owen died on March 12th aged 85 years.
