Gresley Start At The Seaside
Gresley begin their 2017-2018 season with a trip to the North-East Lincolnshire coast to take on league newcomers Cleethorpes Town on Saturday 12th August.
It will be a difficult trip not only for the distance to travel but also against one of the fancied sides to be in the running for the title at the send of the season.Cleethorpes had a superb 2016-2017 season making it to Wembley for the FA Vase Final, where they ended as runner's up to the powerful Northern League outfit South Shields.
The Owls wrapped up the Northern Counties East Premier Division title by eleven points losing just four games scoring a massive 144 goals and conceding 45. They also went on to claim the Lincolnshire Senior Cup.
Another league newcomer, Alvechurch, will be Gresley's opposition for their first home game on Tuesday 15th August. Bank Holiday Monday see Belper Town visit the Moat Ground.
The Christmas holiday fixtures will see Loughborough Dynamo visit on Boxing Day and Chasetown, also at home, on Saturday 30th December. The Moatmen then make the short trip to Belper for the New Year's Day encounter.
Carlton visit on Easter Saturday March 31st followed by a visit to Loughborough on Easter Monday. Gresley's scheduled game to end their league programme is a trip to Market Drayton on 28th April.
