Goole AFC Pre-Match News
Gresley manager Wayne Thornhill hopes the long journey to the East Riding of Yorkshire to face Goole AFC will see his side get off the mark in the league.
His side has yet to register a point in the two games they've played so far. "It has been a little disappointing so far," said Thornhill, "but we are close because we are a good team - it just hasn't quite worked in terms of gelling yet." "When the first points come - and hopefully we can get them on Saturday - it will kick-start our season. Then we will be up and away, and I think we will be fine from there.
"We've just got to get going, and that hasn't really happened yet. But we'll keep working and it will come. Certainly in the first game (against Basford) there was plenty to be positive about, and we played some good stuff in the second half on Tuesday as well, so that's good."
Thornhill will be hoping that the players suffering a few knocks and strains will have recovered in time to make the journey a successful one.
