Northwood in plea to fans
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Frank Northwood boss of injury-battered Gresley Rovers, today appealed to Moat Ground regulars to lift their side back to winning ways.
Gresley are at home tonight against Blakenall in the Banks’s League (7.30 pm) anxious for a win to revive their title challenge.

Northwood said: “Gresley fans have enjoyed so much success in the last 12 months that they seem to think we have a divine right to win every game. At the moment, though we’re going through a very difficult time with so many injuries and all I ask of them is that they now show a little patience and try to get behind the team.”

Northwood plans to borrow Hednesford striker John Branch for the second time this season to enliven an attack which has failed to score in the last two games and also hopes that leading scorer Brian Beresford will return after a three-match absence through injury.

Former Stapenhill winger Francis Harlow and ex-Newhall man Tony Coppinger are drafted into a 14-man squad.
