Gardner boost as Rovers look to end dismal run
Story courtesy of Dave Hackett
New signing Richard Gardner is poised to make his debut for Gresley Rovers' trip to Cirencester Town on Saturday.
Twenty-four year old Gardner has previously played under Gresley supreme Brian Kenning at Bromsgrove and scored the only goal of the game when his former club Blakenall beat Gresley last season.Neil Broadhurst is poised to return to action, having been ruled out for three weeks following a nose operation.
Striker Dave King has been told his knee injury, which was thought to have needed surgery, is just medial damage and not a cartilage problem, as first feared.
Carl Middleton has had the plaster removed from his ankle but is unlikely to play before the end of October. Gresley's trip to Cirencester will see the Moatmen looking for their first victory in six games, a run that has included three league defeats and has seen them knocked out of the FA Cup following a replay defeat at Matlock Town.
