Loughborough Dynamo Pre-Match News
Gresley travel to troubled near neighbours Loughborough Dynamo tomorrow (3pm) hoping to get back to winning ways after suffering a defeat at Spalding in midweek.
Dynamo are in turmoil after their staff and players apparently haven't been paid for a few weeks. There was to have been a meeting last night (Thursday) between the management, players and chairman but the chairman failed to appear. However, Dynamo's manager Tommy Brookbanks announced on their club website forum that he, his assistant Mark Harvey and players will all turn out to play Gresley.
Gresley caretaker manager Wayne Thornhill will be fully aware that Dynamo will provide a difficult test for his side as they will want to give their best for their supporters regardless of what the future may hold.
Thornhill remarked: "I've seen bits and pieces about the situation at Loughborough but I can't rely on any of that tomorrow. I have to prepare for a very tough Loughborough side who are flying high in the table at the moment and that's what we have to concentrate on.
"What happens between now and then is nothing to do with Gresley. Their players may have some issues and I don't know exactly what has happened but we just have to prepare for the strongest Loughborough side to come at us and field the strongest side we have available."
Thornhill should have very nearly a full squad to choose from. Martin Smyth is unavailable due to a prior commitment but Matt Roome returns after missing the long midweek trip to Spalding due to work commitments.
John Guy is still a few weeks away from returning and Callum Riddell should hopefully feature for the reserves as he regains his match fitness after recovering from a broken arm.
