Goole AFC Pre-Match News
Everyone at Gresley is hoping the recent wet weather relents enough to allow the game at the Moat ground tomorrow to go ahead as the club has not played a match since the 28th December.
First team coach Wayne Thornhill, who is standing in for manager Martin Rowe, says the players can't wait to play and are chomping at the bit. "I'm hoping it's on," said Thornhill. "We can't wait for a game and we're dying to play and push up the league. The players were gutted that last week's game was off. All footballers know the novelty of having a weekend off wears off after the first weekend."However, the enforced layoff has enable captain Jamie Barrett, John Guy and Rob Spencer to all recover from their recent injuries.
