Brackley Town Pre-Match News
Gresley make the trip down to Northamptonshire to face last year's Conference North beaten play-off finalists Brackley Town in the 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Cup with Budweiser.
Brackley have picked themselves up after the disappointment of losing out on promotion beaten 1-0 by FC Halifax and have started this season well and are at present lying second in the Skrill Conference North just one point behind Hednesford and unbeaten after nine games.Gresley make the trip as underdogs which pleases manager Martin Rowe. "Being underdogs is something we like," says Rowe. "Everyone will be writing us off like when we went to Scarborough and Kettering and we won both those games.
"The players know they've got to step it up to another level but we can do that. There is no point in going there to defend because that will invite Brackley onto us."
Young defender Lucas Harrison will miss the game still recovering from a thigh injury, Royce Turville (knee) is still some way off and Liam Guest is cup-tied.
Skipper Jamie Barrett and James Jepson who were rested for the Sutton game are both in contention and Rob Spencer (hamstring) could also make the squad.
