After a fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable 3 & 1/2 seasons at Gresley FC, I've decided to call time on my playing days at the club.
I walk away with many fond memories and I am very proud of what I've helped to achieve during my time here including back to back promotions, FA Vase triumphs and of course captaining the side for a sustained period. I have a lot of people to send special thanks to, they extend from the managers I've played for in Gaz Norton, who gave my the honour of captaining the club, and always stood by me and was forever offering me encouragement, to Martin Rowe and all the existing management team, continuing all the way through the club to Barry North, and those working behind the scenes.
The reasons for leaving the club are completely personal ones, and are based upon factors away from football, but my decision was cemented by Martin's decision to extend the deal with Derby to keep Ross for the foreseeable future. I am by no way bitter by the decision, and Martin has done what he considers is the best for the Team and the Club and I sincerely hope Ross continues to perform to the high standard he has been of late, as he is an excellent goalkeeper and an equally likeable lad, who will I'm sure go on and have a great season.
To those that I've played with over the last few years, thank you for the memories, some that I will cherish forever, and to the current squad, all the very best for the rest of the season, the quality is most definitely there, just keep believing.
To the majority of the fans, thank you for your continued support and regular comments of encouragement, and please continue to get behind the lads and support Martin.
Thanks again and the best of luck to everyone connected with the club for the future.
