Gough Leaves The Moat Ground
Jordi Gough
The highly rated Gresley left back Jordi Gough has signed for Conference North outfit Solihull Moors.
Gough joined Gresley Rovers in the summer of 2008 as a result of former Midland Alliance side Stapenhill FC's demise and made the left back slot at the club his own in recent times but also impresses further forward on the wing or in central midfield. He spent a year at Derby County as a schoolboy before having two seasons in the Gresley Rovers youth team. After a short time playing for local side Stapenhill in the Midland Alliance league he returned to the club prior to its liquidation in 2008.
Gough remained loyal as the club reformed into its current guise and has had four outstanding seasons winning players' player of the year for the last three seasons running along with the supporters' player of the year twice.
Gresley manager Martin Rowe told Gresley Online. "Jordi has been the best player at the club for the last few seasons and although I'm sorry to see him go, the step up to Conference North is a good move for him. I wish him all the best at his new club."
