Halesowen Town Pre- Match News
Gresley travel to league rivals Halesowen Town tomorrow for the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy - 3pm.
Joint manager Gary Norton would love to get through — both for the prestige and to put some much-needed cash into the coffers."It'll be tough and we don't know too much about them," he said. "They've started the season really well, similar to ourselves. It'd be lovely to get through and stay in the Trophy for the players, the fans and ourselves in the management team.
"One of the consolations of being reformed and dropping down a few levels is that we've had some great experiences in the FA Vase but the Trophy is the competition you want to be in as a non-league club. It will be difficult to have a good run because we are among the lowest ranked teams in there.
"It'd also be great from a prize money point of view with £2,550 up for grabs. That'd be a big help to any club at our level."
Mickey Lyons, Matt Roome and Dean Oliver all return for the tie after the trio missed the trip to Stamford midweek but striker Royce Turville is a doubt after picking up a knock in the game.
