Celebrity Charity Football Match
On Sunday 23rd September we host a charity football match when soap stars and celebrities come to the Moat Ground for a game in memory of local man Roy Yeomans who died in September last year to raise much needed funds for those suffering with cancer.
The match is being held as part of the Roy Yeomans Charitable Trust whose football team, Winshill Parish FC (Yo Yo), will be facing a team of actors from soaps such as EastEnders, Hollyoaks and Coronation Street. Celebrities expected to take part include Elliot Tittensor, best known as Carl Gallagher in Shameless; Kaya Scodelario, the actress who played Effy in Skins; and Tony Discipline, who plays Tyler Moon in Eastenders. Before kick off, there will be entertainment from the Burton-based Touch of Life dance crew and Burton's singing star Errol Cole.
Gates open at noon with kick off is at 2pm and entrance will cost £10 for adults and £5 for children between five and 16. Admission is free for under-fives.
Why not pop down and give a good cause your support.
