Goodfellow Signs
Marc Goodfellow has become the final player from last season's Midland Football Alliance title winning squad to put pen to paper to remain with the club.
The former Stoke City, Swansea and Burton Albion winger joined Gresley last season and was a key component of the clubs title success. Despite interest elsewhere Goodfellow has agreed to remain with the club to the delight of joint manager Gary Norton who commented: "It's great news that Marc had signed to remain at the club. We had made him an offer a few weeks back which he spent time considering against the backdrop of interest from other clubs. "Like many of our players who have attracted similar interest we are very happy that Marc has agreed to stay and hope he can be even more of an asset to us this time round. His pedigree is excellent and with him still being only 30 we can consider ourselves fortunate to have someone of Marc's calibre at the club."
In other news a mixed Gresley XI take on Newhall United in the final of the Steve Hackett memorial tournament tonight (7pm).
Many of the first team squad have not been included in the squad for the game giving the opportunity to look at a few trialists and include a number of Reserve team players in the squad.
Those probably missing will be Gary Hately, Marc Strzyzewski, Jordi Gough, James Jepson, Micky Lyons, Michael Nottingham, Dean Oliver, Luke Garton, Royce Turville, Adam Betteridge, Matt Roome, Phil Massingham, Rob Spencer, Craig Attwood and Marc Goodfellow.
Probable Squad: Gutteridge, Reynolds, Douglas, Barrett, Langford, Mcaddam, Jacob Wright, Josh Wright, Holmes, Hanslow, Dillon, Grice, Brown, Ball, Barrow.
