Atherstone Town Pre-Match News
The Gresley players have been told to treat the remaining seven league games as cup finals as they pursue their hopes of back-to-back promotions.
Michael Nottingham's dramatic last minute winner against Westfields on Tuesday evening kept Gresley's title hopes very much alive but they know they cannot afford any more slip-ups.Tomorrow they take on local rivals Atherstone Town at the Moat Ground - 3pm, looking for another three points. Town are sitting near the bottom of the table but the Gresley management know it will be a tough game. Assistant manager Martin Rowe said: "Tuesday's win will account for nothing if we don't follow it up with more wins."
Gresley skipper and goalkeeper Gary Hateley could make a surprise return for the game after it was discovered that his thigh injury was not as bad as first thought. "He has an outside chance of being fit for Saturday" said Rowe. "If it's not this weekend it is certainly not going to be three or four weeks as we'd first feared."
Mickey Lyons and Kyle Bryant are both unavailable with Lee Barrow expected to return to a place on the bench. Striker Royce Turville is still out with a knee injury.
