Dagenham To Offer Brian A Dream Ticket
Brian Woodall

Brian Woodall

League one side Dagenham and Redbridge are to offer Gresley FC's Brian Woodall a dream opportunity of a move into the professional game by offering him a contract.
The news comes after a nervous wait over the last couple of weeks for Woodall after he featured in a trial earlier this month which involved a few days training and a game against Millwall Reserves in which he set the Dagenham goal up in a 1-1 draw.

Daggers manager John Still and his staff were impressed by Woodall's showing in the trial and have asked him to travel down to Dagenham on Thursday for a medical on Friday with a view to signing a pre-contract agreement for next season.

Norton explained: "John Still called me at the back end of last week to let me know that they would like to offer Brian a contract from next season. They were very impressed with him during his trial and as such they want him to join up with them in the summer.

"John stated that he wanted Brian to have every chance of making it with them so rather than bring him in now in the pressurised situation of trying to avoid relegation from League one, they wanted him to stay with us for the remainder of the season and then take him in the summer where he can get a full pre-season under his belt and get used to life as a professional footballer."

He added: "It's a massive step from our level of the non-league pyramid to League One and we are understandably delighted for Brian. He has got all the raw materials needed to make it in the professional game and with good coaches to work on both him and his game day in day out to help him adapt I'm sure that he will have very chance of making the move a great success.

"Brian still has to agree terms of course but it's a dream opportunity for him so I'd expect that to be a formality. The club are hugely proud of Brian being offered this chance and we are obviously pleased that he will remain with us for the remainder of the season to try and help us to win the league."
