New Signing For Gresley
Gresley FC have added Kyle Bryant to the Moat Ground squad after the 24 year old impressed during a recent training game with Stapenhill FC.
The former Long Eaton United player who can play on either wing or up front was described as a very fast, exciting and hard working player by Gresley manager Gary Norton. Bryant will remain registered for Stapenhill in the Leicester Senior League but their manager Tony Hemming's was more than happy for him to join Gresley and the two managers will work closely to help each other out in the future whenever possible.
Gary Norton said: "Kyle did very well against us in the friendly we played against Stapenhill but initially I was reluctant to go for him as Tony and Karl Payne (Stapenhill management team) are good mates of mine and I didn't want them to think we were pinching one of their good players.
"However, Tony and I have been chatting a lot about players recently and when the subject came up he said he wouldn't stand in the way of one of his lads trying it at a higher level. He wants to play as high as he can and has been looking for an opportunity to do that."
Speaking about what qualities his new signing will bring to the squad Norton added: "Kyle will bring a lot of energy and endeavour to the squad and will inject a lot more work rate into the team. He's got a few rough edges to his game and we will work with him on those but we are hoping he will do very well for us.
"We've had him watched since the friendly and he impressed again. He works incredibly hard when his team is in possession and more importantly when the opposition have got the ball which is something that one or two of our current players need to do a lot more of if they want to keep their places in the team.
"We have a lot of excellent attack minded players at our disposal who do well when we have the ball but are sometimes a little too lazy when we don't. The balance between going forward and defending has got to be right at all times and Kyle won't have a problem with doing either of those when out there on the pitch."
Bryant will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's league game against St Andrews but is cup tied for the weekend FA Vase tie having appeared in this season's competition for Long Eaton.
