Frank has his say on Roger move

Gresley Rovers manager Frank Northwood has broken his silence on the Roger Davies affair.
Davies was dismissed as Gresley’s assistant-manager by Northwood and released by the club last week.At the time Northwood refused to make any comment but a string of stories in Midland newspapers at the weekend has prompted him to speak out.
Northwood said he and Davies had been in consistent dispute whether or not the former Derby County striker should be in the side regularly.
“Roger thought he should be my first choice but I didn’t agree and in the final analysis it was my decision. Roger has said that he was happy to carry on as coach but because of his work commitments he was only able to take training every other week,” Northwood added.
He said the final straw had come shortly before the recent game at Halesowen.
“Things were said to certain players which I didn’t feel was right and were in fact untrue. That was the last straw for me.”
