McGinlay asks for improvement
John McGinlay has asked for a big improvement in performance from his team as
they meet Bedworth United in the second round of the FA Umbro Trophy at the Oval tomorrow (3pm).
In midweek Gresley just hung on to claim three points at home to RC Warwick winning 3-2 and manager McGinlay was not impressed with his sides performance as they twice come close to throwing away the lead.

“We need to play better than that against Bedworth or we won’t go much further in the competition,” he said.

On the injury front Stuart Evans faces a late fitness test after aggravating an ankle injury.

“I nearly took him off after 20 minutes against Warwick because I thought he did not look comfortable. At half time I decided to rest him and it seemed to unsettle the side, we did not play well after that,” remarked the Moat boss.

Lee Westwood has recovered and should be on the bench for tomorrow’s game.

Andy Bourne is still struggling with a calf injury and McGinlay would have liked to have rested him but it depends on who else is available.

Mark Peters is carrying a slight groin strain.

Barry Woolley came through the Wednesday night match after returning from an ankle injury with no ill effects.
