Loughborough Pre-Match News
Gresley Rovers will include a new signing for tomorrow's home game against Loughborough Dynamo - 3pm kick off.
The club have today completed the signing of striker Louis Briscoe from Hednesford Town. Briscoe signed for Hednesford Town in June this year after spending last season at Leek Town where he scored 19 goals in the UniBond Premier Division. The 20-year-old striker began his career on the books of Port Vale where he progressed from the Youth Team to the First Team making five First Team appearances. After being released by The Valiants Louis had a short spell at the end of the 2006/07 season at Moor Green before signing for Leek Town at the beginning of last season.
Manager Gary Norton has tried to sign the Burton based player on a couple of occasions in the past so at last is delighted to have him sign for the club. He said: "I first watched Louis play for Stafford Rangers reserves towards the end of the 2006/07 season but unfortunately he got injured in that game. Once fit we tried to sign him but he went to Moor Green in the Conference North. I again tried to sign him that summer but he joined Leek Town in the Premier division.
"He had a great season for them last year and scored 19 goals in a relegated side so he certainly knows where the net is. He lives just up the road from us so the move is ideal for all parties. We have high hopes for him at Gresley Rovers and I hope he will settle in well and prove to be a good signing for us. We are delighted to at last have him on board".
Other news, Dan Douglas looks like coming into the side but Oliver Hancock (knee) and Barry Woolley (shoulder) are still sidelined.
Defender Jamie Hood starts his three match ban but it is hoped that Miles Chamberlain will recover from a slight groin injury picked up on Tuesday.
Norton will have a headache sorting out his midfield with Mickey Lyons scoring after coming off the bench against Leek and both Brian Woodall and Kevin Lock having good games and Gavin Saunders now returned from holiday.
Gresley from: Baldwin, Douglas, Chamberlain, Morris, Wilson, Banks, Slater, Barrett, Lyons, Lock, Blenkinsopp, Woodall, Saunders, Gough, Liversage.
