Retford Pre-Match News
Gresley Rovers have agreed terms with 21 year old goalkeeper Nicky Scaife to join the club.
The Sheffield based stopper will join Rovers after ending last season with Quorn FC. He started his career with 3 years in the youth setup at Manchester United followed by spells with Lincoln City, Gainsbrough Trinity and Parkgate FC.
Subject to his registration going through with the UniBond in time, Scaife will make his debut for Rovers tomorrow at UniBond south champions Retford United.
Scaife apart, manager Gary Norton has named the same group that travelled to Rushall Olympic in midweek although he has added the name of Reserve team goalkeeper Simon Baldwin to the squad.
Barry Woolley (shoulder) is the only definite to be missing although it looks like Brian Woodall will almost certainly remain sidelined with his ankle injury.
Midfielders Lee Melon and Chris White will play for the Reserve team in a bid to boost match fitness in the home fixture against Oadby Town together with winger Chris Sleath and goalkeeper Dave Clarke.
Rovers from: Scaife, Douglas, Wilson, Hood, Chamberlain, Slater, Barrett, Lyons, Saunders, Banks, Blenkinsopp, Hancock, Liversage, Lock, White, Gough.
