Gresley and Heanor go head to head
Gresley Rovers' Football Club is urging supporters to attend Tuesday's (22nd July 2008) pre-season friendly to help raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer fund. Kick off 7.30pm
Heanor Town requested that the game be played and funds donated to this cause and so Gresley readily agreed to donate the gate money to the charity, which is dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. The Chairman of Gresley Rovers, Mark Harrison, said, "We are working hard towards improving the clubs finances but I still think it's important we consider all sections of our community and there are other issues, some of which are health related, that affect many people that as a community football club we can't ignore them."
"Heanor, who then came to us to ask them for a pre-season match, selected the charity but unfortunately their ground is unavailable. I hope the people of South Derbyshire and those wanting to support this charity will come along on Tuesday evening."
