Search is on for Unique Volunteer
Andy Parker has decided he can longer commit himself to every Rovers' home game and so we're looking for someone who wants to be part of the new backroom team we're building at the Moat Ground.
We thank him for his contributions on match day and look forward to seeing him on the terraces once the season is underway.

We're after a rather special person - a confident and outgoing volunteer who can become an integral part of match days. We are looking for an announcer/operator for our public address system who can keep the crowd informed and entertained at least half an hour before games, during half time and after matches.

The announcer will need to have a clear voice, some technical ability, knowledge of popular music and preferably an interest in football. Whoever is appointed will need to read the teams, announce goal scorers and the attendance promote forthcoming matches/activities and support fundraising initiatives such as prize draws. The ability to update other scores and sport news would be an advantage. The volunteer will need to be reactive if urgent announcements are required and remain calm should an emergency arise.

This is a voluntary role that requires commitment to first team home games. Depending on the fixture list these are generally played on Saturday afternoons, Tuesday evenings and on Bank Holidays and the person may be invited to attend some other matches. In return the club may be able to offer opportunities for the person in the social club if they are a DJ or entertainer with own equipment or advertising in kind. The role may also suit someone planning a career in sport presenting/journalism.

The person will need to be a good team player and be able to work with a range of different people. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person due to Gresleys' plans to move to a new stadium and the openings that will create.

If you are interested please email: david.rider@gresleyrovers.com telling us about yourself and giving us your full contact details.

Please pass the details of this opportunity on to anyone you think may be interested.
