Gresley Renew Interest in Women's Football
Gresley Rovers FC is looking to adopt a team of girls/ladies for the 2008/09 football season and beyond.
The Club will be running several sides for boys through to an accredited Youth team, which will feed the Reserves and ultimately the First team but for sometime has had little interest in the women's game. The recently appointed Board, Chaired by Mark Harrison would like to complement the number of teams it runs by re introducing a ladies side. The team will play under the Gresley Rovers FC umbrella and will be offered a range of support that will include regular fixture news and match reports on the club's website and in a new look match day programme.
Gresley Chairman, Mark Harrison, said: "Ideally we are looking for an established team that would like to work with us, however, if a suitable Manager comes forward we can take it from there."
"I want to ensure that the Gresley Rovers FC brand once again stands for a family orientated football club and this must include young adults of both sexes so I'm very keen for us to actively support women's football again."
