More Players Sign
Manager Gary Norton has announced that two more of his current squad of players have committed their future to Gresley Rovers for next season - and at the same time he also revealed a new signing.
On top of the already committed Brian Woodall, Jamie Hood and Lee Mellon, existing players Danny Blair and Andy Roberts have also agreed to stay at the Moat Ground next term whilst defender Barry Woolley has also agreed a deal with the club.Blair is looking to put an injury plagued run in behind him and get back to the sparkling form he was showing before his back injury cut short his season. He has not played since mid February but the Rovers boss thinks that when back to fitness the former Nottingham Forest trainee will be a valuable asset to his squad. He commented: "We can all see that Danny is a player of real quality and creativity and by his own admission, we haven't seen the best of him yet which is great news. If he gets his head down and works hard he could prove to be a huge asset to us next season.
Meanwhile young defender Andy Roberts has been snapped up after impressing the management since joining the club from Hednesford Town's youth set up and Norton also revealed that the 6'4" Woolley has agreed a deal for next term after meeting Norton earlier this week. The 29-year-old has agreed a one year deal and will return to the club after spending the current campaign at Ilkeston Town.
Norton commented: "Barry is a great signing for us and I am especially pleased to have him back at the club for next season whilst we are also delighted that Andy has also signed. He is a young lad who has done impressed immensely since joining us and time will tell if he will turn out to be a regular feature in our squad next season."
