Injuries mount!
Injuries to key players are a worry for manager John McGinlay.
McGinlay will be without John Allcock who will probably need to have an operation on his hamstring injury. “There is some bleeding around his hamstring. The physios’ have tried manipulation but because of calcification they can do no more and a decision will be made next week to see if John will need an operation,” the Moat boss said.“We are already without Richard Wardle as he is still recovering from a broken nose and both Andy Cheetham and Stuart Evans are both looking doubtful.
“Andy was taken off during the game at Redditch because of a rib injury and he did not train Thursday because he still had difficulty in breathing but I will give him a late fitness test on Saturday morning.
“Stuart Evans dropped out of training because of his on-going hamstring problem and will be struggling to play Saturday, Tuesday and again Saturday.
“Alex Green is still sidelined because of a back injury and Matt Moran is also doubtful for Saturday.
“ I have put in a few calls to try and get some players in, at least on loan, as soon as possible because we have another game on Tuesday.
“We are missing leadership on the park because of these injuries and I have to question if the players we have are good enough.
“We are looking to strengthen but how many we have got to get in is not easy to work out. When things are not working out you have to decide whether to persevere or make changes. We have got to sign players who will add and bring quality to the squad otherwise there is no point in bringing them in.”
