Hednesford Pre-match News
Carl Slater (toe) and Morgan Hurley (hamstring) will have fitness tests to determine whether they will feature in Rovers' penultimate pre-season friendly tonight against UniBond Premier outfit Hednesford Town at the Moat Ground (7.30pm).
Adam Henchcliffe (knee) and Tom Betteridge (hamstring) will be missing as manager Gary Norton awaits news on how long the pair will be missing.Midfielder Luke Edwards who signed on a gentleman's agreement from Tamworth along with Henchcliffe, looks set to finally make his Gresley debut tonight.
David Clarke, who has also signed for Tamworth, will be in goal, while Andy Simpson and Shaun Ridgway return.
Ahead of tonight's game Norton remarked: "I don't quite know where pre-season has gone.
"It has been difficult because of the games we have had called off, and particularly with the volume of triallists.
"Fitness is a big worry, but we just have to grab opportunities for some players to do extra work before and after games.
"We are also asking players to do bits in their own time, but not too much as they need recovery time also.
"Tonight's game will be a big test in terms of measuring how near we are to where we need to be as Hednesford had a very good season in the Premier Division last year."
