Rovers Start On The Road
Gresley Rovers' start to the new season begins on the road with a visit to league new boys Retford United on Saturday 18th August.
United were promoted to the UniBond Division One South as champions of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and will provide a tough opening match for Rovers.Rovers' first home game is against local rivals Shepshed Dynamo on the following Tues evening.
This will be the first of three meetings between the two sides due to the extra games, four home and four away, added into the fixtures for this season to help make up the forty two league games required.
The usual Christmas holiday meetings will begin with Rovers hosting Dynamo on Boxing Day and the reverse game at Shepshed on New Year's Day.
As well as Shepshed, extra home games will see Quorn, Brigg Town and Goole AFC making a return league visit to the Moat Ground and Rovers visiting Spalding United, Retford United, Carlton Town and Grantham Town.
The Easter holidays sees Gresley at home to Brigg Town on Good Friday and then a visit to Cammell Laird on Easter Monday.
Lady Luck has again drawn Rovers away in a cup match with them having to make the trip up to the oldest football club in the world Sheffield FC for the first round of the UniBond League Cup. The match will be played on Tuesday 25th September.
The fixtures are now on the website.
