Rocester pre-match news
Gresley Rovers begin their pre-season matches with a visit to Rocester on Saturday and manager Gary Norton will be looking over a few trialists.
Included in the squad are former Mansfield Town striker Richard Londsdale and Polish centre-back Sebastian Kalinowski."We will be taking a big mixed squad heavily loaded with triallists and we have earmarked these first two or three matches before the Bass Charity Vase to take a look at them.
"On Wednesday we play Gedling and the following Saturday Borrowash. The squad will then be whittled down. I'm particularly keen to take a look at Richard Lonsdale in a match because he's looked very sharp in training.
"I'm also looking to strengthen the centre half slot and maybe a full-back. Sebastian has just moved over from Poland looking for a club. Darren Stride, the Burton Albion captain, rang me and passed on his details. Sebastian has played professional football in Poland and what I've seen in training he looks very composed and comfortable on the ball. He need to build up his fitness and I hope to give him 45 minutes tomorrow."
Another trialist is goalkeeper Steve Harris who will share the goalkeeping duties with Tommy Whittle.
Missing from tomorrow's game is new signing Colin Hoyle along with Andy Simpson, Tom Betteridge, Micky Lyons and Matt Moran. Aaron O'Connor is completing his trial at Rushden & Diamonds.
