What about friction burns?

GN: With the old traditional artificial astro turf type surfaces there was a high danger of that and there were a few serious injuries caused because of it but this particular design is much better. You can slide on it and wear pretty much any footwear without any problems. One of the things the FA will be looking at is injuries. One of the questions on the form asks if you think any of the injuries sustained was, in your opinion, caused by the surface. In our case we didn't and I'm hoping that's the case for many other clubs. A lot of our players thought it was a good surface but they would have liked a chance to have done a bit more work on it. We did train three or four times on a similar surface in Derby but it's not a full sized pitch over there. The footballing players within your side were encouraged to get the ball down and work it about. One or two said the surface was good but they wouldn't like to play on it every week.
