Millns fee agreed
Matt Millns
Following an FA tribunal held at Pride Park yesterday the fee for the signing of defender Matt Millns was agreed.
Eastwood Town will receive £2,500 with a further £500 after 25 appearances and a further £500 after 50. They will also receive 30 per cent of any sell on fee.Speaking after the tribunal manager Gary Norton said: "I personally feel we have been forced to pay a little bit more than we should with the add-ons for appearances. But, we could have been asked to pay more and it's just a relief it's over and that the relationship between us and Eastwood is still very good."
Chairman Mark Evans said: "I'm relieved that the FA set a realistic fee which was some distance from the £15,000 Eastwood wanted. To be honest, it was down to the opinion of the three people based on the evidence given.
"We felt we put our case well and so did Matt. Obviously, the fee is at the top end of our consideration, but will not be an issue as far as the club being able to afford it is concerned."
Millns was also relieved that the matter is now closed. Saying after the meeting: "I've been in limbo a bit not knowing what was around the corner. I was not really concerned with Eastwood's side of things. I just didn't want Gresley paying over the odds. I guess the fee will put a bit of added pressure on me to perform, but hopefully I can now concentrate on putting in consistent performances and hopeful help Gresley push for promotion."
