Brown Returns
Karl Brown

Karl Brown

Karl Brown has rejoined the club from Nationwide North club Runcorn AFC Halton.
The midfielder rejoins Rovers to boost Gary Norton's squad at a time when needed most. Rovers have taken just one point from nine in a poor run of league form and Norton believes that the recapture of Brown could well be a catalyst in his sides resurgence in form.

He said:" Without doubt we have struggled somewhat recently since both Karl and Jimmy Turner left to join Runcorn. They are both great players and we have struggled to replace them with similar quality. In particular we have struggled down the left hand side due to us only having right-footed options other than fullback Gary White. Attacking wise, in midfield, we have struggled in some games with the overall balance of the side. Don't get me wrong, we have some great right-footed options at the club, but we have been missing that little something that only a naturally left sided player would give us. Last week was a classic example where we got into some great positions on the left but rather than being able to whip an early ball in we were having to check back onto the opposite foot which disrupted the flow of our attacks somewhat. At least now we have another option and that can only be a good thing for us. We are delighted to have him back at the club and we hope he settles back into things quickly."

Brown left to join Runcorn at the end of October after making 19 appearances for the club of which Rovers lost just twice against AFC Telford in the league and Hucknall Town in the FA Cup. He scored his only goal in a Rovers shirt on his debut against Osset Albion on the opening day of the season and returns to the club in time to join the squad the FA Trophy 3rd round clash at Tamworth.
