Ian Bluck update
Ian Bluck
Ian Bluck has received a boost after receiving news of his date for the operation needed on his ankle injury.
Moat favourite Bluck has been plagued by injury over the past 3 seasons. He missed most of last campaign after rupturing knee ligaments and fracturing his leg in the FA Cup preliminary tie against Buxton in August 2003. He made his return in the penultimate game of last season scoring at Cinderford. Bluck's injury curse struck again when he sustained serious ankle ligament damage in a preseason friendly at Tividale after going over in an innocuous challenge. A tentative date of 2nd Feb has been allocated for the surgery should a routine pre-op inspection of the injury be satisfactory.
Manager Gary Norton commented: "Ian is still quite down at the moment when it comes to football. Last season, even though he was injured for most of it, he still came to most home and away games with us. He's found it difficult this season though and cannot face watching. He loves the club and this latest injury setback has destroyed him. I spoke with him last night and he seemed a little more upbeat now that he's got a tentative date for his op. He misses the club and asked me to pass his regards on to everyone at the club with the message that he is looking forward to seeing everyone again soon."
