Ossett Albion pre-match news
Sean Gummer will be missing from Rovers squad for tomorrow's trip to Ossett as the midfielder is set to play a few games for Northern Counties East league outfit Mickleover Sports.
Manager Gary Norton talking about the arrangement commented: "Sean is another of our players to attract interest from other clubs as they have obviously seen that he's been on our bench of late. He's a quality player and one I'm keen to keep but his chances recently have been limited to appearances from the bench due to the team doing well. As a result he's a bit off it match fitness wise. I owe Martin Rowe a favour so I am happy to help him for a few games and in the short term it will get Sean some much needed pitch time. I spoke with Sean after training last night and he's itching to get his shirt back at Gresley and is keen to get a few games under his belt." Emeka Ejiofor, rested for the midweek league cup win over Rocester should return to the squad after struggling in the last couple of weeks with a groin strain. Norton is keen to get the big front man back in the side. "Emeka's groin felt ok in midweek but I wanted to give him more time to make sure he had the best chance of being fit for Saturday. If he's 100% he will start. We have missed his presence in the last couple of games and that why I'm keen to get him back in there as soon as possible."
Skipper Matt Smith came through with flying colours after coming on as a half time substitute in midweek against Rocester and looks set to return to the heart of the defence after missing last week's game against Brigg with illness.
