RSPCA shelter calls for Elvis' help
Elvis Gresley at the RSPCA
The staff and volunteers at the RSPCA called on Gresley Rovers' mascot Elvis Gresley to see if he could help to find some volunteers, which they so badly need and were delighted when he agreed.
After explaining their plight, Elvis said he was only too pleased to help the Stretton based charity.Ten of the kennels are in need of tiling and a volunteer who had carried out the work previously had retired so the staff are now asking for help in completing the work before Christmas.
Club Chairman, Mark Evans, said: "Gresley Rovers are very much a community football club and if we can help the community then we are only too pleased. With Elvis being a hound dog, he very much appreciates the luxury a dog needs in the winter."
Anyone who can help is asked to contact the RSPCA animal home on 01283 569165
Kennel Club honour Elvis
Gresley Rovers have been contacted by the Kennel Club, resulting in Elvis Gresley being officially registered and listed on their official database.
To mark the event Elvis will be presented with a certificate, collar, and tag.
Elvis said today: "It's a great honour to be registered by the Kennel Club as only dogs with a good pedigree qualify."
