Elvis Gresley
Gresley Rovers today unveiled their new mascot a hound dog called Elvis Gresley who arrived at the Moat Ground this afternoon, thanks to Pete Robinson and his company Swadlincote Safe Scaffolding.
The idea of a mascot called Elvis was first thought of by Chairman Mark Evans and former manager John McGinlay a couple of years ago and Mark recently heard that Elvis was on his way to the Moat Ground. Speaking today, the chairman said: "I'm delighted that Elvis has joined the staff here at Gresley Rovers. You will see him pop up, not only at the home games, but also at various events around the area. Elvis will be our ambassador in the community and I hope he will become a very popular figure."
Former mascot, Gresley Bear has now retired and was last seen living happily in Gresley Wood.
