Dolby lines up big names

Gresley Rovers are poised to capture two major new signings “of Conference standard.”
Manager Steve Dolby said today he was confident of making the double swoop. Dolby declined to name the players concerned, but said: “Obviously, we are looking to bolster our defence, which gave us problems last season. As I’ve said before, we’re not looking for any sort of player. We’re looking at two major signings, and they’ll both be players of Conference standard.“I’m confident that both players will join us – in fact one of them is virtually certain to sign shortly – but we won’t be giving any names away until the signings are complete.”
Meanwhile, Rovers have beaten a string of clubs to capture Borrowash Rovers’ teenage striker Paul Galloway. The 19-year-old centre forward has attracted a host of admirers in two seasons with the Central Midlands League outfit and Dolby said: “Paul’s decided to join us and I’m very pleased about that. He’s a goalscoring centre forward and definitely one for the future.”
In the meantime, every member of last season’s promotion-winning squad has agreed terms for Rovers’ first season of Beazer Premier football.
