Shepshed pre-match news
Gary White
Gresley Rovers have more injury worries before the game at Shepshed after Gary White suffered a recurrence of a knee injury that has troubled him since being injured in the Bedworth game in September.
Manager Gary Norton said: "We had a full-scale training match on Tuesday and Gary played half the game. He said he felt fine but he phoned me the next day to say something was not right with his knee. It's very worrying, as he's tried three comebacks now, playing a couple of games but his knee is causing him problems again. We need him to go and see a specialist to determine what is wrong before we can consider him again. Gary will be a major doubt for the FA Trophy game next week."Norton was hoping to have the services of on-loan striker Shaun Harrad but that is unlikely. Harrad broke a finger during the Swindon match and is due back to hospital on Monday.
"I'm 99 per cent sure Notts County will not allow Shaun to play for us until he's been given the all-clear, though we are still trying," said Norton.
Steve Lenagh could be back but is likely to have a place on the bench after recovering from a calf injury that has kept him out for four weeks.
Defender Danny Haynes has recovered from an ear infection and is available again but Norton will not risk fellow defender Leigh Everitt, recovering from a thigh injury, as both Matt Smith (suspended) and Jamie Hood (cup tied) will be missing from the FA Trophy tie.
Carl Francis is likely to be partnered by Jamie Barrett up front with Steve MacKenzie also named in the squad.
Norton is expecting a tough game at Shepshed despite their position in the league. He said: "Every game in this league is tough, as we found out when we lost at Clevedon who had gone nine games without a win. Shepshed are very hard to beat at home and have had draws against both Redditch and Rugby so we know they will be tough to break down."
