Mark Sheils joins Halesowen
Mark Sheils
Keeper Mark Sheils has left the Moat Ground to join Halesowen Town.
Mark joined Gresley in March 2001 and made his debut against Tiverton Town (a) on 12th April 2001.Towards the end of that season Mark unluckily picked up a knee injury that kept him out of football for the whole of 2001-2002 season and most of 2002-2003 coming back in March 2003 to play for the reserves.
With the recent signing of Dale Belford Mark felt his opportunities would be limited for first team games and after discussions with both the chairman and manager decided to move on to gain first team football.
Chairman Mark Evans said: "Mark has been very professional about the situation and came to training on Thursday to say goodbye to the players. He goes to Halesowen with our very best wishes and the door remains open for him at Gresley."
Mark made 21 appearances for Gresley Rovers.
