Stourport pre-match news
Gresley could field 5 new players for tomorrow's game at Stourport Swifts.
Norton will have new signings Dale Belford, Danny Haynes, Gareth Holmes, Shaun Harrod and Steve Lenagh available for selection. But, probably the biggest decision he will have to make will be who will fill the No1 jersey. Norton will have to decide between Mark Sheils and Belford and he's playing his cards close to his chest.
Gresley are hoping to get their season off the mark with the visit to Stourport and Norton revealed: "I'm looking forward to the game but I feel a little nervous. We obviously need to get something out of it. It's too early to say it's a must win game, but after the start we've had we need to take something.
"The training session last night (Thurs) was fantastic and the players already at the club can now see that their places are under threat. We have some competition now.
"Some of the experiences placed I spoke to have been surprised by the quality of the players we've brought in and their is a buzz of excitement around the place.
"I would like an immediate response and an immediate improvement. I know it sometimes takes time for new players to settle in and I may hold back one or two. But, with the way we've performed in the league so far, I can't see it being that disfunctional if we play all five."
Gresley will be without the injured Ian Bluck (knee), Neil Kitching (work commitments) and Carl Slater (suspended).
Skipper Andy Cheetham should be fit despite a touch of the flu, and Jamie Barrett, who suffered from a slight groin strain during training, should also be in the reckoning.
Gresley from: Sheils, Belford, G White, Cheetham, Wardle, Smith, Barrett, Tate, Hebberd, Moran, Holmes, Haynes, Timms, Harrad, Lenagh, Pitt.
