Rovers trail 2-1 from Saturday’s first leg at Bridlington but Dolby said today: “It’ll be a real battle – but we can do it.”

Bridlington boss Colin Richardson said this week his team would be coming to the Moat Ground to win, warning that Rovers had not yet seen the best of his team.

But Dolby said: “I disagree with that – I think we did see the best of Bridlington in the first leg when they scored twice – but they haven’t seen the best of us. Obviously, we’ll be guarding against them scoring another early goal – but it won’t worry me if we don’t score early on either. We’ve proved time after time that we’re a team that can come strong right at the end of the game. But from what I’ve seen of Bridlington I don’t think they’re a 90-minute side.

“It would be great if we could pull a goal back early on and equalise the tie, but I won’t worry. The longer the game goes on the more chance we’ll have. If it ends up going to extra time I won’t worry – it’s at our ground and we’ll have the advantage.

“I know they’re not looking forward to coming to the Moat Ground – they’re worried about the tightness of the pitch. In that respect our supporters are going to be vital for us. They’re going to be intimidating to Bridlington and I want them to make as much noise as possible – the more the better.”

Dolby admitted today he faced “a headache – but a nice headache” in deciding his side. The players that missed Tuesday’s game at Nuneaton had genuine injuries but those that came proved that every member of the squad is capable of doing a job.”

Scott Elliott’s thigh strain makes him Rovers’ biggest doubt but top scorer Paul Acklam and defender Gil Land must also prove they have recovered from the knee injuries that kept them out of Tuesday’s win at Nuneaton.
