Gresley Rovers’ leap up to Beazer Premier football now looks a formality after the completion of major ground improvements costing £10,000.
As Steve Dolby’s side clinched promotion on the field last week with a 2-1 win at Hinckley Town thanks to Gil Land and Craig Weston, roofing of all the Moat Ground standing areas and other ground enhancements were completed to comply with Beazer League regulations.Rovers are now waiting for a delegation from the league to inspect the works and give them the all-clear earning them their second promotion in two seasons.
Commercial manager Frank McArdle said: “We had planned this even before we knew we had been promoted and these are constant improvements as we continue to lift our standards. It’s now left to an inspection by the league but I’m confident that the work carried out will be sufficient to gain promotion.
“This season has been terrific for Gresley and the improvements show our commitment to the players, supporters and to our aim of setting high standards for ourselves.”
