Gresley Rovers boss Steve Dolby threatened to ring the changes after seeing his side slip to their third Beazer Midland Division home defeat of the season on Saturday.
Defensive lapses cost Rovers three goals in the opening 27 minutes as Grantham Town followed up their 2-0 home win in October by completing the double over the Moatmen. And Dolby said afterwards: “To say I was angry with our defending is an understatement – the whole team defended badly, not just the back four.
“If we can’t put it right we’re going to have to look for replacements – this kind of thing is happening far too often. I’ve got confidence in the players but it’s up to them to start producing the goods.”
Rovers, however, have been denied the chance to put things right quickly after Sutton Coldfield Town’s 1-1 FA Trophy draw with VS Rugby on Saturday.
The two teams replay at Butlin Road tomorrow, meaning Rovers’ Barclays Southern League Cup trip to Sutton, scheduled for Wednesday, is off yet again.
