Gresley Rovers youth team top scorer Matt Moran completed his hat-trick with a last minute penalty to reward a fighting display as the Moatmen gained a point from a 4-4 draw at Sutton Coldfield last night.
Moran gave Rovers an early lead but the home side stormed back to go 3-1 in front though Tom Witham pulled one back on the stroke of half-time.Sutton restored their two-goal lead 10 minutes into the second half but Moran gave the visitors renewed hope then levelled from the spot.
Veteran Rovers striker Steve Burr, who lives in Alrewas, has been called up by Scotland for an over-35's non-league international on Sunday.
Aberdeen-born Burr, better known as boss of Nuneaton Borough, will team up with former Burton Albion midfielder Dougie Keast to take on England at Rothwell Corinthians.
Gresley ladies have notched up another big win - despite having to play a home game at a neutral venue.
With the Moat Ground waterlogged, the clash with Peterborough had to be switched to Moira Miners' Welfare but Rovers took it all in their stride to roar to a 12-1 win.
Rovers, who are now only a point behind league leaders Barwell with three games in hand, are at home to Harborough on Sunday.
