Gresley Rovers include four new signings and a string of triallists in a 15-man squad for their opening pre-season friendly against Glapwell Miners Welfare at the Moat Ground tomorrow (7.30pm).
Former Moat favourite Bob Aston makes his return and is joined by new boys Tony Marsden, the former Grantham Town midfielder, and ex-Mickleover RBL striker Mick Taplin. Also in the squad is former Burton Albion midfielder Graham Rigg, who has moved from Mickleover.
Meanwhile, manager Steve Dolby plans to run the rule over trialists Dave Reed, a midfielder formerly on Wolves’ books, striker Darren Birch, who was with Belper Town last season, and Derby-based defender Simon Greatorex.
Rovers are without regulars Gil Land, Kieron Smith and Richard Denby, who are all on holiday along with striker Steve Taylor, a close season capture from Rushall.
