Stourport Swifts pre-match news
Keeper Mark Shiels will take over from James Lindley for tomorrows visit to Stourport Swifts.
Regular first team keeper James Lindley is suspended following his red card at Cirencester a couple of weeks ago and manager Jon Newsome thinks the rest might do him good after an indifferent season.Newsome said: “James has had some very good games at times but has also made some bad mistakes and I think his confidence has taken a bit of a battering. Everyone has said what a good keeper Mark is and he has looked it in training but his problem is he’s not been fit all season.
“It’s a chance for him now. He’s been waiting for his chance for quite a while but if he plays well he keeps his shirt. It would be difficult to leave him out if he does and it would provide me with a real selection headache.”
Striker Neil Kitching has shaken off his thigh injury and is expected to replace the injured Steve Rutter (ribs).
Newsome is also unavailable has he is serving the second of a three match suspension.
In-form Chris Gray has escaped with just a warning after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 0-0 draw at Shepshed. The booking came after the cut-off date preventing a suspension.
But it’s not so good for defender Ian Bluck. He has been told he requires an operation on his damaged knee and that would take him out for three to four weeks which would effectively rule him out for the rest of the season.
