Youth gets final fling

West Midlands League Champions Gresley Rovers plan to give youth a chance when they play their final home game of the season against West Bromwich Town tomorrow (7.45pm).
Rovers who gave 17-year-old winger Chris Parkins his debut in a 3-0 victory over Hinckley yesterday, draft midfielder David Mead, also 17, into their injury hit squad.Gresley were short of four first choice players as they picked up the championship shield yesterday with strikers Paul Acklam and Brian Beresford and defender Stuart Evans all set to sit out tomorrow’s game.
Only Neil Lovell stands a chance of returning to the Gresley side as Rovers look to end their campaign on a high note.
Said manager Steve Dolby: “Both Chris and David will get a chance against West Brom. They’re both good prospects and this is an ideal situation to have a look at them.”
