Rovers stumble
Story courtesy of Burton Mail
Gresley Rovers coach Steve Dolby saw his table toppers slip to a 3-1 West Midlands defeat against second-placed Stourport Swifts on Saturday then declared: “It wasn’t a bad performance.”
After Rovers had dominated most of the game only to be caught out twice on the break after the interval Dolby said: Surprisingly, I thought we played quite well. It was a good performance ruined by naïve defending. We gave them two goals through very bad defending.“We knew we would have most of the possession in the second half because of the wind we created a lot of chances. It was very frustrating because we were inches away from scoring on a lot of occasions.”
Gresley play a “low key” friendly against Beazer Homes Midland Division Tamworth at the Lamb Ground, tomorrow evening (7.30).
