John McGinlay's Moat Ground signing spree continued today with the capture of another of his former Bradford City team-mates.
McGinlay has snapped up Bradford Park Avenue right-back Danny Verity, with the 21-year-old in line for his debut at Shepshed Dynamo tomorrow (Sat 3pm).

Verity joins midfielder David Donaldson as players who were at Valley Parade with McGinlay who have been brought to South Derbyshire by the Moat boss, with the capture taking the number of signings made by the former Scotland striker to six.

Said McGinlay: " Danny was at Bradford with me and David Donaldson and he has a very good attitude. He is a young player who was released by Bradford and he is very keen to get back into the game."

And McGinlay revealed there may be more signings before the transfer deadline.

" Danny is my sixth signing and we are getting there! There will not be too many more before the end of the season, maybe one," he said. " The lads have stepped up their performances in the last two games and we are not far away now. The thinking behind making the signings now is that they will get used to the place and the way we play before we go into the next pre-season. The longer you wait in looking for players the more you find that they go and talk to three or four clubs and leave their decisions to the last minute before the season starts."

And McGinlay revealed the club would now be looking to get players on contracts.

"We want to get on with the contracts now but we will wait until after the transfer deadline, we want to concentrate on getting results at the moment," he said.

One player leaving the Moat Ground is midfielder Adie Doughty, who has joined Mickleover Sports until the end of the season.

Said the Moat boss: " I told Adie he was not in my plans for this season, but we left the door open for him to come back for pre-season."
