Rovers chase Deaville

Gresley Rovers have made a surprise bid to lure keeper Mark Deaville away from Rocester.
Rovers boss Frank Northwood revealed last night that he has issued seven days’ notice of intent to approach Deaville, who had a spell at the Moat Ground earlier in his career. But he simultaneously issued a vote of confidence in current keeper Simon Harrison, saying: “I mean no disrespect to the young lad. He’s doing all right and we want to hold on to him. But I’m looking for a bit of experience to pull us through.”
Northwood predicted a testing mission for his top-of-the-table side against struggling Wednesfield tomorrow (3pm), saying: “I’m always wary of sides at the foot of the table. They’re desperate for points and we’re expecting a battle.”
Defender Jason Minton will definitely return to the side if he passes a fitness test.
